Custom-fit Earpieces for Broadcasters (Single or Pair)

 

Custom-fit Presenter Earpieces
The most common type of earpiece worn by studio-based presenters is the Custom-fit Presenter Earpiece

This is moulded in an almost invisible flesh-tone acrylic and designed to fit discretely within the presenter’s ear. The earpiece is held in place by the precise, moulded shape which is very comfortable to wear and also holds a moulded sound tube which relays instructions and prompts directly into the ear canal.

This moulded tube (the Earloop) exits the earpiece over the top of the ear and continues under the hairline through a soft, curled tube to a clip which can be secured to clothing at the back of the neck.

There is a small transducer attachment on the end of the tube which is then attached to a transducer (speaker) which is in turn connected to the presenter’s beltpack. The Custom-fit Presenter earpiece is available as a single earpiece or as a pair.

These earpieces are supplied with a moulded earloop (over the ear), curled tubing (to allow for head movement without dislodging the earpiece), a collar clip and a transducer attachment. We also supply the transducer (speaker) and cable to connect to a beltpack and complete the system. These can be found in our accessories section.

All our Custom-fit earpieces are individually moulded from precise impressions of our client’s ears. We hand-finish the earpieces with a matte surface on the outside to reduce reflection and glare from studio lights. Each earpiece is marked with the presenter’s name, a serial number (for traceability), an indicator marking for left or right ear and are supplied in a sturdy case.

Custom-fit Studio Monitor Earpieces
Revolutionary Custom-fit Monitor Earpieces, designed for use by presenters in studio environments

Monitor earpieces are designed to fit very discretely right inside the wearer’s ear canal. They have a tiny speaker fitted inside which can transmit information directly into the ear. This ensures that there can be no possible interruption in the transmission of information to the presenter. Most live broadcasts are now moving to this new type of earpiece.

The Custom-fit Monitor earpiece is made from moulded ear impressions and fits very comfortably and securely into the ear canal. A thin cable with mouldable internal wire runs over the presenter’s ear and down to the back of the neck where an adjustable clip secures the cable to clothing. The cable then continues down the presenter’s back to plug into a beltpack.

All monitor earpieces are fitted with transparent cable over the ears, an adjustable clothing clip and a 3.5mm jack plug. Other plugs can be fitted on request. All earpieces are wired for both mono and stereo.

Custom-fit Monitor earpieces are supplied in a non-reflective material. All earpieces are supplied with the presenter’s name, serial number (for traceability), indicator markings for left or right and are supplied in a sturdy case.

Custom-fit Outside Broadcast (OB) Monitor Earpieces
Revolutionary Custom-fit Monitor Earpieces, designed for use by presenters in Outside Broadcast (OB) situations

These earpieces are designed particularly for use in high-noise environments and have been developed from our experience over the last ten years with Formula 1 mechanics and engineers. They are ideal for use at motor racing venues, football pitches, crowd situations and many other similar locations.

The Custom-fit “OB” Outside Broadcast Earpieces are available as a pair. The “OB” earpieces are custom-fitted to the precise shape of the presenter’s ears making them very comfortable to wear and secure in the ears, even for long periods.

​At the same time they are low-profile, very discreet and hardly visible on camera, allowing the wearer to move around freely.

The OB Monitors are made of transparent acrylic and incorporate balanced armature, low-impedance receivers together with frequency response dampers to give the wearer a smooth, clear sound.

Because the receivers are mounted within the ear canals, they are able to deliver high-fidelity sound directly into the ear, while the perfectly-fitting shape of the earpiece minimises external noise and allows communications to be heard clearly, even in the noisiest situations.

Standard-fit Earpieces for Broadcasters (Single or Pair)

Standard-fit Earpiece for studio-based presenters

Aside from our Custom-fit range of earpieces, we also manufacture and supply a range of Standard-fit generic earpieces for use by presenters on a temporary basis or for use by guests on a programme.
These earpieces are injection moulded in a soft, translucent silicone and are available in sizes: Small, Medium and Large for either left or right ears (please specify your requirements when ordering).

Two versions are available:
• Standard-fit Presenter Earpiece Deluxe with straight or curled tubing
​These earpieces are supplied with a moulded earloop, curled or straight tubing, clothing clip and a transducer attachment. They are supplied in a sturdy case.
• Standard-fit Presenter Earpiece with curled tubing
These earpieces are supplied with curled tubing, clothing clip and transducer attachment. They are supplied in a resealable bag.

Presenter Earpieces
Standard-fit Earpiece for studio-based presenters

Our unique Monitor Earpieces, fitted with miniature speakers mounted inside the earpiece, are also available in a standard-fit generic version.

Unlike the Custom-fit version, this version has a swivel-tip which can be moved around to fit either left or right ear and will fit most ear canal sizes.

They are supplied with three sizes of soft eartips – Small, Medium or Large.

Both versions are supplied with an adjustable clothing clip and a 3.5mm jack plug (to plug into a beltpack). We wire the plugs for Mono but the Pair can be wired for stereo on request.
